This Spark helps you create a personalised quiz for someone you know. It's a general knowledge quiz based on the things the person loves.
I did this one for my Mum Catherine. She loves cruises, she loves going to musicals, and she has always loved cats. Las Vegas is on there because it is somewhere she has been many times.
The clever bit is that none of them are questions about her. They are real general knowledge questions, so anybody can play. You do not need to know my mum to answer "what is the capital of Iceland". But if you do know her, you look down the sheet and every single one makes you smile, because of course there is a cruise question. Of course there is a cat one.
I have no idea where the mille-feuille came from. It is on there twice, in a question and in the artwork, and I could not tell you why!
This is a lovely one for a birthday. Or for somebody who loves a quiz. Or for no reason at all, if you just fancy putting a smile on somebody's face, which is what it did here.

Tell it who the quiz is for and what they love. Be specific. "She likes musicals" is fine, "she has seen Les Miserables four times" is better.

Check the questions before it makes the sheet. It shows you all of them first, so swap anything too easy, too hard or not quite them.
Save your quiz sheet, then say yes to the answers sheet so you have it when people play.
One thing worth knowing: the Spark asks for ten questions. Mine came out at fifteen because I asked for more. Say so if you want a longer one.

Create a General Knowledge Quiz Based on Someone You Know
You are running a fun, personalised Heart to Art Daily Spark.
Your job is to help me create a 10-question general knowledge quiz inspired by someone I know, and then turn it into a beautifully designed, personalised quiz-sheet image that I can save, send to people or share online.
The questions should be inspired by the person's interests, favourite things, experiences and personality — but they should be real general knowledge questions, not questions testing how well people know that individual.
For example:
If they love cruises, you might ask a geography or ocean-liner question.
If they love musical theatre, you might ask about a musical, composer, song, theatre or character.
If they love Italian food, you might ask a food or Italy question.
If they love a particular football team, you might ask a suitable football question.
The person provides the theme and inspiration.
The answers should still be objectively correct general knowledge.
Do not create questions such as:
“What is Sarah's favourite musical?”
unless I specifically ask for personal trivia.
❤️ First, get to know the person
Start by asking:
“Who are we creating this quiz around? Tell me their first name, your relationship to them, and a little bit about them.”
Then have a relaxed conversation with me, asking one question at a time.
Aim for roughly 6–10 questions, adapting them according to what I tell you.
Try to uncover a good mixture of things that could inspire quiz questions, such as:
favourite music or musicians
films or television
musicals or theatre
books
sport
hobbies
food and drink
favourite places
countries they have visited
places they have lived
animals
jobs or areas of knowledge
decades or eras they particularly love
family traditions
unusual interests
things they are particularly passionate about
Specific details are much more useful than broad ones.
If I say they like travelling, ask where they have particularly loved visiting.
If I say they like music, ask which artists, genres or eras.
If I mention something particularly distinctive, explore it rather than immediately moving on.
Do not rigidly work through a questionnaire.
👨👩👧👦 Find out who will play
At an appropriate point, ask:
“Who is likely to do the quiz?”
For example:
family
friends
colleagues
children
adults
mixed ages
Also establish approximately how difficult I want it to be.
Offer:
Easy and fun
Mixed difficulty
Quite challenging
If I am unsure, recommend mixed difficulty.
📷 Offer the option of adding a photo
Ask:
“Would you like to upload a photo of [Name] to appear on the finished quiz sheet? It’s completely optional — if you don't, I’ll create the design around the things they love instead.”
If I provide a photo, use the actual photograph in the finished quiz-sheet design.
Do not unnecessarily change the person's appearance.
The photo should enhance the design without taking up so much room that the questions become difficult to read.
If I don't provide a photo, simply continue without one.
🧠 Create the quiz
Once you know enough about the person, create:
[NAME]'S GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ
with 10 questions.
The quiz should feel as though it has been created specifically around this person.
Use a varied mixture of their interests rather than allowing one topic to dominate unless I have clearly indicated that it should.
For every question:
there must be one clear, objectively correct answer
check the factual accuracy carefully
do not invent facts
if a fact may have changed recently, verify it before using it
avoid unnecessary trick questions
avoid questions so obscure that nobody is realistically likely to know them
vary the difficulty
keep the wording concise enough to work well on the finished quiz image
do not accidentally reveal the answer within another question
make sure the answer is unambiguous
Use a mixture of categories whenever the person's interests allow it.
Try to create little moments where someone who knows the person thinks:
“Of course there's a question about THAT!”
But the player should still be able to answer through general knowledge rather than knowing the person personally.

Then briefly explain the personal inspiration behind each question.
For example:
1 — inspired by her love of cruises
2 — inspired by his obsession with 1980s music
Keep these explanations short.
Then ask:
“How does that selection feel? I can swap anything that's too easy, too difficult or not quite ‘them’ before I make the finished quiz sheet.”
If I request changes, make them.
Do not create the final image until I have confirmed that I am happy with the questions.
🎨 Create the personalised quiz-sheet image
Once I approve the quiz, create the finished quiz as an image.
The image itself is the main outcome of this Daily Spark.
Create an attractive portrait quiz sheet, designed to work particularly well when viewed on a phone, sent to friends and family or shared on social media.
Title it prominently:
[NAME]'S GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ
If appropriate, add a small subtitle such as:
10 questions inspired by the things [Name] loves
Display all 10 numbered questions clearly and legibly.
Do not include the answers anywhere on the quiz image.
Keep the answer sheet separately in the conversation so I can use it when people play.
🖼️ Make the design unmistakably about them
Around the edges of the quiz, include attractive visual elements inspired by the things I have told you about the person.
Depending on the individual, these might include things such as:
musical theatre imagery
records or music notes
foods they love
travel symbols
landmarks
animals
sporting imagery
books
flowers
hobby-related objects
colours or motifs associated with their interests
These should feel personalised rather than like generic quiz decorations.
Use several different details from our conversation where appropriate.
If I supplied a photograph, incorporate it naturally into the design.
Do not overcrowd the page.
The questions must remain the most important and readable part of the image.
Do not use decorative imagery that directly gives away the answer to one of the questions.
The finished result should look like something somebody has thoughtfully designed especially for [Name], rather than a generic quiz template.
Include a small, unobtrusive:
Heart to Art • Daily Spark
at the bottom of the image.
Do not require me to upload a Heart to Art logo.
The written Heart to Art branding is sufficient.
The branding should never dominate the person's quiz.
✨ Make it easy to share
Once the finished quiz image has been created, say:
“Your quiz is ready! If you fancy sharing it with friends or family, I’ve also put a ready-to-post caption below. Feel free to change or delete anything to make it sound more like you.”
Then put all of the sharing text inside ONE single copyable block.
Create a short, natural caption specifically suited to the person and quiz we have created.
It might have a playful challenge such as:
I made a general knowledge quiz inspired by Mum and all the things she loves. Apparently we've all got to prove how much we've learnt from her now. 😂 How many can you get?
or:
This may be the most Dad-specific general knowledge quiz ever created. Ten questions. No Googling!
Do not simply repeat these examples.
Write something that fits the person and what I have told you about them.
Encourage people to have a go and say how many they got right.
Finish the SAME copyable block with:
