Create a Personalised Limerick

My friend Sharon made this for me.

There once was a whirlwind called Grace,
With Diet Coke firmly in place.
She'll pick at her brow,
Start ten projects right now,
Then laugh-scream all over the place! 😂

She used a photo from her 60th birthday, a few weeks ago. She obviously knows me very well. Whenever she gets in my car, she normally has to clear a way through my empty Diet Coke cans! When she sent it over she just said "Brilliant."

This really made me smile.

She's been making them for other people she knows ever since.

Make one yourself

It's free, and it takes about ten minutes. Copy the Spark, paste it into ChatGPT, and answer the questions it asks you.

How it works

1. Copy the Spark and paste it into ChatGPT.

2. Tell it who you're writing about, you or someone else.

3. Answer its questions one at a time. It asks about five to seven, about their personality, their habits, the things they love.

4. You'll get three limericks. Pick your favourite, or ask it to mix the best bits of all three.

5. Say yes when it offers to turn it into a picture, then send it to them.

One tip. The limerick is only as good as the small stuff you tell it. Not "she's kind". The thing she always has in her hand. The phrase she says every single time. That's the bit that gets people.

Create a Limerick Based on Yourself or Someone You Know
You are running a fun, conversational Heart to Art Daily Spark.
Your job is to help me create a genuinely personalised limerick about myself or someone I know.
Do not write the limerick immediately.
First, get to know the person
Start by asking:
“Who are we writing this limerick about — you or someone else? And what’s their first name?”
Then have a relaxed conversation with me, asking one question at a time.
Ask around 5–7 questions in total, adapting them to what I tell you rather than working through a fixed questionnaire.
Try to uncover the kinds of specific details that will make the limerick feel unmistakably about that person, such as:
their personality
funny habits or quirks
things they love
things they are brilliant or terrible at
memorable stories
sayings or little details people associate with them
something affectionate, impressive or ridiculous about them
If I give you an interesting detail, follow it up rather than immediately moving to the next question.
If I am writing about somebody else, make sure you understand my relationship with them.
At some point, ask what kind of tone I would like. For example:
affectionate
cheeky
laugh-out-loud funny
sentimental
gently teasing
or a mixture
Keep the conversation natural. Do not overwhelm me with lots of questions at once.
Then create the limericks
Once you have enough material, write three genuinely different personalised limericks for me to choose from.
Each limerick should:
follow a recognisable AABBA limerick rhyme pattern
sound natural rather than using awkward or forced rhymes
use specific details I have actually told you
feel like it could only have been written about this particular person
never invent facts, stories, characteristics or quotes I haven't provided
Make the three options meaningfully different rather than just changing a couple of words.
Then ask:
“Which one is closest — 1, 2 or 3? Or shall I steal the best bits from more than one and create the ultimate version?”
If I want changes, work with me until I am genuinely happy with the final limerick.
Do not move on to the sharing section until I have confirmed that I am happy with the poem.
✨ Make it easy to share
Once I confirm that I am happy with the final limerick, create a ready-to-share social post.
Immediately before it, say:
“If you’d like to share your limerick, I’ve put everything together below so you can copy the whole post in one go. Feel free to change or delete any of the sharing text to make it sound more like you.”
Then put the final limerick AND the sharing text together inside ONE single copyable block.
Do not put the poem and the social caption into separate copyable blocks.
The copyable block should contain:
My Limerick for [Name]
[The final limerick]
Then add one short, natural sentence that sounds like something a real person might post alongside it.
Make this sentence relevant to the limerick and the conversation where possible.
For example, it might say something like:
This is worryingly accurate 😂
or:
I think this sums him up rather well!
or:
Had far too much fun making this.
Do not use the same generic sentence every time.
Then finish the SAME copyable block with:
I made this with a Heart to Art Daily Spark ✨Fancy making one about yourself or someone you know? [SPARK PAGE LINK]
The Heart to Art text should feel light and natural rather than like an advertisement.
🎨 Optional shareable image
After giving me the ready-to-share post, ask:
“Want me to turn your limerick into a shareable picture too?”
If I say yes, create a visually appealing square social-media image featuring the final limerick.
The design should reflect the person and the details I have shared.
If I have uploaded a photograph and want it included, use it as part of the design.
Otherwise, base the visual style on things such as their personality, interests, quirks or stories from our conversation.
Keep the limerick clear and easy to read.
Include a small, unobtrusive:
Heart to Art • Daily Spark
at the bottom of the image.
The Heart to Art branding should never overpower the person's limerick.
The finished result should feel like something the user would genuinely want to share with friends or family.
If I say no to the image, simply move on to the final Daily Spark invitation below.
If I say yes, wait until the image has been created and then move on to the final Daily Spark invitation.
