Heart to Art Daily Spark #010 ✨ Plan Your Next Holiday

A comparison sheet headed Which Holiday Should We Choose? with three columns, Vietnam, Sicily and Slovenia, each with photographs, why it suits us, a suggested route, a budget and the best time to go.

Fancy getting away, but not quite sure where to go?

Perhaps you already have a destination in mind and want to make the trip really special. Or perhaps all you know is that you need sunshine, adventure, culture, family time, complete relaxation, or simply a change of scene.

This Daily Spark helps ChatGPT get to know what makes a great holiday for you, and uses that to suggest a trip you will genuinely look forward to.

The weather turning cold this week is what started me off. I fancied booking something, and I had absolutely no idea where I wanted to go, which is not a helpful place to begin.

What came back were three proper options, laid out side by side so I could actually compare them. Vietnam, the most adventurous. Sicily, the easiest to manage alongside a bit of work. Slovenia, the hidden gem, and the one I had not thought of at all.

Each one has a reason attached. Why it suits us, what the trip would feel like, a suggested route, a rough budget and the best month to go. Then a one-line verdict at the bottom of each: choose Vietnam for the biggest sense of adventure, Sicily for history and the smoothest working holiday, Slovenia for stunning scenery and a surprising new favourite.

The part that makes it work is that it does not start with destinations. It asks how you want to feel while you are away, what you most need from a holiday at this point in your life, and what memories you would like to come home with. Then it answers the question you actually asked.

It also checks current prices and entry requirements rather than guessing at them, which matters when you are the one booking.

If you fancy a change of scene, this is a lovely way to spend fifteen minutes. Even if you do not book anything, it is a good excuse to think about where you would really like to be.

This one is short enough to open in a single tap. No copying, no pasting. It is free, and it takes about fifteen minutes.

Open this Spark in ChatGPT

How it works

  1. Tap the button above, or copy the Spark below and paste it into ChatGPT.

  2. Answer its questions one at a time. Who you are going with, when, how long, roughly what you can spend and how far you are willing to travel.

  3. Answer the softer ones too. How you want to feel, and what you would love to come home remembering. Those are the questions that change what it suggests.

  4. You get three different holidays, each with a reason, a route, a budget and a memory worth having.

  5. Say yes when it offers to build a full itinerary for the one you like.

Tell it anything practical it needs to know, like mobility, dietary needs or having to work for an hour a day. Mine planned around exactly that.

✨ DAILY SPARK: PLAN MY NEXT HOLIDAY
I’d like you to help me plan my next holiday.
I don’t just want you to suggest the most obvious tourist destinations. I want you to understand what I enjoy, who I’m travelling with, what I can afford and, importantly, how I want this holiday to feel.
Please interview me first.
Ask your questions one at a time, responding naturally to what I tell you. You can adapt your later questions based on my answers rather than rigidly following a questionnaire.
Please find out things such as:
Who I’ll be travelling with
Roughly when I want to travel
How long I have
Where I’ll be travelling from
My approximate budget
How far I’m prepared to travel
The weather or climate I’d enjoy
Whether I want relaxation, adventure, sightseeing, food, culture, nature, nightlife, family activities or a mixture
Holidays or destinations I’ve loved before, and what I loved about them
Things I definitely don’t enjoy on holiday
My preferred pace: packed with activities, very relaxed, or somewhere in between
What kind of accommodation I like
Whether there are any accessibility, dietary, mobility or other practical considerations
Anything I’ve always wanted to see or experience
But also ask me some more personal questions, such as:
How do I want to feel while I’m away?
What do I most need from a holiday at this point in my life?
What kind of memories would I love to come home with?
Is there something I’d love to do that would make me think, “I’ll remember that forever”?
Don’t ask unnecessary questions if you already have enough information from something I’ve told you.
Once you understand me, suggest three different holiday ideas.
For each one, tell me:
🌍 WHERE?
The destination and the best area or base for me.
❤️ WHY IT SUITS ME
Explain specifically how it connects with the things I’ve told you rather than giving me a generic tourism description.
✨ THE EXPERIENCE
Describe what the holiday might actually feel like and the kinds of things I could do there.
📸 THE MEMORY-MAKER
Suggest one particularly special experience that could become one of the standout memories of the trip.
💰 BUDGET
Give me a realistic indication of how well it fits my budget. Make clear when prices are estimates and may vary.
🧳 PRACTICALITIES
Give me useful information about travel time, likely weather, the best area to stay and anything particularly important I should know.
If current prices, entry requirements, transport schedules, opening times or other time-sensitive information would affect your advice, check up-to-date information rather than relying on old information.
At the end, tell me:
“If I were choosing for you, I’d pick…”
Choose one of the three and explain why you think it is the strongest match for me.
Then ask whether I’d like you to take my chosen destination and create a personalised itinerary, including places to stay, things to do, memorable experiences, places to eat and a rough budget.
Before you finish, include this:
